Horse drawn sleigh rides, dog sled rides, cardboard sled race, petting zoo, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowman building contest, food and refreshments and snow tubing on the best tubing hill in the north country.  Don't miss the event to be at in northern NY on February 4th!  Oh...and the best part is admission and all activities are FREE thanks to Countryside Veterinary Clinic, Lowville Medical Associates, Miller's Spraying, Trixie-Belle Farms and VS Virkler & Son, Inc.!

8-10 - Pancake Breakfast at the Manor House ($8/Adult, 4-8 yr.olds half price, 3 and under free)
9-3:45 - Tubing Hill open along with Sleigh rides, snowshoeing2011_Winterfest_002, cross-country skiing, sliding and bonfire - all free!
10-3 - Petting Zoo
11 - Snowman Contest
10-12:30 and 1-3:30 - Dog Sled Rides (must register at ticket area)
2:30 - Cardboard Sled Design Judging (next to tubing hill...in the case of inclement weather judging will be done in the horse barn)
3:45 - Cardboard Sled Race!

Building Materials: Only Cardboard, duct tape and glue are allowed as building materials.  Paint, markers, crayons, colored paper allowed for decorations.  Cellophane wrap allowed for windshields only.  Use of any other materials will result in disqualification.  Prizes for distance and design (note that designs will be judged at 2:30).  Up to Three (3) persons allowed to ride in each sled. 
                                                                               
 
Cross Country Ski Trails PDF Print E-mail

Did you know that Maple Ridge Snow Park, in conjunction with Winter_Camp_Cross_Country_Skiing_2LC Fairgrounds, Earl Noltz and the Pratt Northam Foundation provide groomed cross country ski trails that connect the fairgrounds and Maple Ridge Center?   These trails are open for public use and thanks to a generous donation from the Pratt Northam Foundation cross country skis are provided free of charge!  Click here for a printable map of the trails.  Please keep in mind the following when skiing:

  • trails are open from dawn to dusk
  • only skis and snowshoes are allowed - no snowmobiles!  
  • cross country skis can be borrowed from the Warming Barn at Maple Ridge Snow Park anytime the Snow Park is open.  Hours are 12-5 Saturdays, Sundays and school holidays.
